  • 12 December 2008 to 12 February 2009 - The Ground, The Air - With photography, video and installation, artist Anne Ferran explores how the past haunts the present using Tasmanian sites and archives, archaeology and histories. Showing at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, 40 Macquarie St Hobart. Open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
     
  • 12 February to 8 March 2009 - String State: History and Creation of Stringed Instruments in Tasmania - A free exhibition of stringed instruments made in Tasmania, as well as historic Tasmanian photos featuring string instruments. Open Tuesday to Friday from 11:00am to 4:00pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at The Schoolhouse Gallery, Rosny Farm. For more information call (03) 6245 8740
     
  • 20 December 2008 to 26 April 2009 - Art Rage 2008 - Artworks created by students from Tasmanian schools and colleges. Held at the John Lees Atrium, Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Inveresk.
     
  • 7 March to 7 April 2009 - Re-Earthing - Contemporary Aboriginal Art - Exploring social, political and environmental issues within Tasmania. Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm and Sundays 12.00pm to 5.00pm at the Devonport Regional Gallery.
