  • 6 December (Saturday) 2008 - Carols by the Bay - Presented by The Royal Australian Navy and Woollahra Council. Featuring a jumping castle, sausage sizzle, the Australian Defence Force, SES and Aviation static displays, an 18 foot Christmas tree, and a visit from Santa. Parking is extremely limited so public transport is recommended. The event is free. 4:00pm to 9:30pm at HMAS Watson, Wilson's Field, Cliff Street, Watsons Bay.   • 6 & 7 December 2008 - Carolfest - Celebrating 50 Years - Modelled on the King's College, Cambridge Christmas tradition of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, Carolfest, performed by Sydney University choir, ranges from traditional carols like Good King Wenceslas, to more classical Christmas choral music by Bruckner. Sydney University Great Hall, Camperdown. Book online through Quicktix.
     
  • 4 November to 7 December 2008 - Little Women - The Broadway Musical - Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences (and classic novel), it follows the adventures of the four remarkable March sisters who come of age during the Civil War era.   • 7 December (Sunday) 2008 - Balmain Sinfonia Concert (pdf) - The concert will feature Schubert's Rosamunde Overture, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 and Sibelius's Symphony No. 2. The event starts at 2.30pm at the Macquarie Theatre, Macquarie University, Balaclava Rd, North Ryde. Tickets are available at the door or by using the Balmain Sinfonia (pdf) ticket form.
     
  • 10 December (Wednesday) 2008 - Christmas Concert - Presented by The Consulate General of the Czech Republic. Czech organist Pavel Kohout will perform pieces by Josef Ferdinand Norbert Seger, Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Fredrik Sixten and Lubos Sluka.
