  • 17 June to 3 July 2009 - Love, Thieves and Fear Make Ghosts: Old Tales and New Forms of Japanese Ghosts - By Melbourne-based artist Andrea Innocent. Showing at the Japan Foundation Gallery, Level 1, Chifley Plaza, 2 Chifley Square, Sydney.
     
  • 22 June to 4 July 2009 - Heartfelt Photography Exhibition - A free exhibition by The Australian Community of Child Photographers (ACOCP). ACOCP is a volunteer run service that provides family portraits of children that have been stillborn, died neo-natally, are terminally ill or have been born very early. Free to the public, the showing features 20 to 30 images submitted by ACOCP photographers with the blessings of the children’s families. Showing Monday to Friday from 11.00am to 6.00pm and Saturdays from 12.00pm to 4.00pm at the MLC Gallery, 449 Harris Street, Ultimo.
     
  • 14 June to 14 July 2009 - Imprints - Artist Christine Maudy celebrates 20 solo exhibitions. Promenarts Gallery, 188 Beatie St, Balmain.
     
  • 10 April to 24 July 2009 - When Mammoths Roamed - Learn about the life of the woolly mammoth through interactive displays. Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for concession, $12 for children aged 5 to 15 years and free for children under 5. Australian Museum, 6 College St, Sydney.
     
  • 2 May to 16 August 2009 - Climate Change: Our Future, Our Choice - An interactive exhibition that aims to show how the Earth will be affected by climate change. General admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children aged 5 to 15 years and $8 for concession. Australian Museum, 6 College St, Sydney.
     
  • 7 to 25 August 2009 - Aaron Kinnane, Bandit Moon & The Bastard Son - Open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 6.00pm at the Charles Hewitt Gallery, 335 South Dowling St, Darlinghurst.
     
  • 12 to 28 August 2009 - Urban Ghosts - The artist has used modern objects in works inspired by supernatural themes. Showing at the Japan Foundation Gallery, Level 1, Chifley Plaza, 2 Chifley Square, Sydney.
     
  • 11 to 20 September 2009 - Save the Children - Make a Thing of the Past - A free exhibition of modern day items from around the world representing practices and issues the organisation would like to 'Make a Thing of the Past.' Westfield, Bondi Junction. 
     
  • 17 September to 6 October 2009 - A Definite Likeness - The exhibition features objects, clothes and toys from artist Sophie Gralton's childhood and aims to take the viewer on a haunting journey into a child's world. Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 6.00pm at the Charles Hewitt Gallery, 335 South Dowling St, Sydney.
     
  • 12 September to 7 October 2009 - Mark Thompson - The exhibition will focus on portraits of entertainment personalities, including Garry McDonald and Marina Prior. Mark Thomson also had an entry in the 2009 Archibald prize. Robin Gibson Gallery, 278 Liverpool St, Darlinghurst, Sydney. 
     
  • 25 July 2009 to 18 April 2010 - Archibald Prize Regional Tour - An Australian award, The Archibald Prize, began in 1921 and 'aims to foster portraiture.'  The Regional tour includes Western Plains, Cowra, Broken Hill, Gosford, Griffith and Maitland.
