2008 Olympic Games in
Beijing - Games of the XXIX Olympiad
The number 8 is considered lucky in China, so the 2008 Games opening
ceremony begins at 8:08:08pm on 8 August 2008. The Olympics then run until 24 August.
The 2008 Paralympic Games
will be held in Beijing from 6 to 17 September 2008.
See The Official Website of the
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Watching the Olympic
Games in Australia
The time zone in Beijing (China Standard Time) is +8 GMT, which is the same time zone as Perth and
two hours behind the eastern states (+10). This will mean Australians
can see a lot of the big events on prime time television.
Hotels, Accommodation,
and Tours in Beijing
Accommodation will be difficult to get in Beijing during the Olympic
Games so get in early.
