RSPCA-ACT (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Animal welfare (RSPCA/ACT on the forum). The main functions of the Society in the ACT are:
- to investigate cases of alleged cruelty or neglect
- to operate an animal shelter
- to care for wildlife by rehabilitating sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.
- to raise community awareness of animal welfare issues through an education program
- to work with Government towards ensuring adequate legislation is in place and to raise funds to support these functions.
