  • SBS Radio 105.5fm and 1440am. From October 16 2006, SBS Radio will be broadcasting two radio services to audiences in Canberra and the surrounding areas. Listeners will be able to tune into the new SBS Radio service on 1440am. The existing service on 105.5fm will also continue. Many of the languages which can already be heard on SBS Radio in the ACT will now broadcast for more hours every week. And for the first time, ACT listeners can tune into programs in Albanian, Assyrian, Bangla, Bosnian, Cook Islands/Maori, Fijian, Gujarati, Kannada, Kurdish, Maori, Nepalese, Norwegian and Samoan. Together the two services will provide programs in 68 languages!
