Charles Darwin University (CDU) is the major tertiary education institution in the
Northern Territory and is unique in that it offers both higher education
and vocational (TAFE) studies. There are approximately 15,000 students
at CDU, representing over 60 different nationalities. This includes full
time & part time higher education, as well as vocational education
students. With more than 400 full-time academic staff, the CDU has
excellent staff/student ratios and small undergraduate classes.
Yolngu
Radio Service ARDS has established a Yolngu Radio Service to meet the
information access, self-learning and adult education needs of the Yolngu
people of north-east Arnhem Land. This service has been developed through
the provision of grants obtained through various government departments and
charitable donations. Yolngu Radio is now broadcasting on 1530 AM in
Nhulunbuy, Yirrkala, Darwin and Palmerston. There are plans to expand our
coverage across the north-east Arnhem Land Region. Yolngu Radio can also be
received Australia wide via a free-to-air signal on the Aurora satellite
platform.
