• 6 October (Monday) 2008 - NT School Term 4 Begins

• 10 October (Friday) 2008 - RSPCA Happy Tails Day (See also No School Today: Fundraising Activities)
   
• 11 to 18 October 2008 - The Alice Springs Masters Games are held every two years attracting over 4,400 competitors from across Australia and overseas, competing in 34 sports. The Games have earned a reputation as being Australia's friendliest masters competition.
   
• 25 October (Saturday) 2008 - Teach International Darwin Classes - Teach International holds free community English classes everyday Saturday from 10.30am to 12:30pm. Come along, enjoy yourself and learn to speak English with confidence. Palmerston Library, Goyder Square, on the Boulevard in the City Centre. • 24 April to 30 October 2008 - Mindil Beach Sunset Markets - Enjoy the tastes of five continents all in the space of a leisurely walk along the stunning setting of Mindil Beach, Darwin. The market is famed for the huge range and quality of its art and craftwork. Thursdays 5pm-10pm and Sundays 4pm-9pm.
   
• 31 October (Thursday) 2008 - Halloween - see Halloween party products and costumes for children and adults
   
• 31 October (Friday) 2008 - Canteen National Bandanna Day - Proceeds go to CanTeen's community efforts. (See also No School Today: Fundraising Activities)

• To be confirmed 2008 - National Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Ribbon Breakfasts - The Pink Ribbon Breakfast project gives everyone the opportunity to be involved, no matter where they live. Most breakfasts are held in the fourth week of October to coincide with Pink Ribbon Day.
