Legacy Week - A national fundraising
drive raising funds to support widows and families of Australian Defence
Force personnel who have lost a loved war in war or peacekeeping
operations.

Tiwest
Night Stalk - a national citizen-based spotlight survey to
determine numbers and distribution of Australian native species and
feral pests. Anyone can do it, all you need is a torch and a sense of

- 3 September (Wednesday) 2008 - Indigenous Literacy Day
- Help raise urgently needed funds to address the literacy crisis in
remote Indigenous communities. There will be events around the country -

Footy Colours Day
- Wear your team's colours to work or school to raise money for the Back
on Track program, which offers tailored tutoring for children living
with cancer. Register your school or workplace on the

NAPCAN Launch of National Child

National BBQ Day takes place in backyards all over
Australia raising funds for Variety, The Children's Charity, which is
dedicated to improving the quality of life of sick, disabled and

National Blood Donor
Week Blood is needed every single day by cancer patients,
people with heart disease, people with kidney, stomach and bowel
disease, for new born babies, for mums in childbirth and for burns and

Alice Desert Festival showcases the arts and culture of Central
Australia. Presenting an exciting, culturally diverse menu of events

Bridging the Cultural
Divide - This two-day seminar aims to provide people
working in any area of Indigenous policy development, program
implementation or direct service delivery with a deeper understanding of
Indigenous culture. Examining a community development model successfully
used in Arnhem Land today, this training will cover both the theory and
practice of working with Indigenous communities applied to local
governance, law, economics, health and substance abuse issues. Tickets
