This national awareness day aims to highlight the importance of general fire safety and the role smoke alarms play in house fires.

• To be confirmed 2010 - Everest Virtual Challenge - A walking challenge in which teams compete to virtually climb Mt Everest. Register to receive a pedometer, track steps online and raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital.

• To be confirmed 2010 - Wish Day - Established in 1985, Make-A-Wish Australia is a not for profit organisation that grants wishes to children with a life-threatening medical condition. You can support this cause by either purchasing Make-A-Wish merchandise, donating, hosting a fundraising event or volunteering on the day.

• To be confirmed 2010 - Pink Bun - A national fundraiser with 100% of the profits being donated to the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
