  • 28 August (Friday) 2009 - Daffodil Day - Support the Cancer Council Australia by buying a bunch of daffodils or Daffodil Day merchandise, volunteering at a merchandise stall, selling merchandise at your workplace or school, or making a cash donation. All funds raised support cancer research, prevention programs and support services for cancer patients and their families. (See also No School Today: Fundraising Activities.)
     
  • 28 to 30 August 2009 - Gold Coast Show - Entry is $15 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, $5 for children under 14, and free for children preschool age and under. Parklands Showgrounds, Cnr Smith St and Parklands Dr, Southport.
