• 12 December (Friday) 2008 - Queensland Last day of School Year (see AU school holidays) Year 12 finish - 21 November, Year 10 finish - 28 November
  Queensland state schools north of the 16th parallel of south latitude or west of the 144th meridian of east longitude; or at Alpha, Aramac, Augathella, Barcaldine, Blackall, Cameron Downs, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Eulo, Hughenden, Ilfracombe, Isisford, Jericho, Longreach, Muttaburra, Prairie, Quilpie, Tambo, Wyandra or Yaraka finish the school year one week earlier than other state schools.

• To be confirmed December 2008 - Carols by the Water  The night will include Christmas crafts, games, face painting, clowns, jumping castles and more. There will be heaps of music, drama, a jazz band and of course lots of carols singing.
   
• To be confirmed December 2008 - Odyssey New Years Eve 08 The event held at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast features three arenas and five hours of live rock and dance acts.
