• 1 to 11 July 2008 - School Holiday Puppet Show "The Three Little Pigs" - 2 shows daily at 10am & 11.30am. Gerda Pinter pavilion, Macintosh Island Park, Surfers Paradise. Tickets $5 (kids under 2 Free), pay at the door.

• 30 June to 13 July 2008 - NIDA tours Queensland - NIDA on Tour provides access to expertise in theatre, film and television, by bringing short courses to capital cities and regional centres across Australia. In 2008 NIDA tours Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Toowoomba these Winter holidays with weeklong and weekend courses for adults and young people. • 19 July (Saturday) 2008 - The Grand Tour - Tour the world in the lap of luxury with the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra and Conductor Mark Turpin. Experience orchestral music which will evoke images of Italy, Russia, Europe and England. 7.30 pm, Gold Coast Arts Centre. Adults $35, Concession/Students $30, Children under 12 $5. • 19 July (Saturday) 2008 - Cancer Council Fundraiser: Movies and More Trivia Night - Come dressed as your favourite movie star, prizes for the best dressed. Sausage sizzle from 6:30pm, $2 a sausage. BYO drinks and nibbles. $10 a head, organise a table of 8, or come as an individual or a smaller group.  7:30pm, Studio Village Community Centre, 87 Village Way, Studio Village.
   
• 19 July (Saturday) 2008 - 25th Anniversary of Nerang Rugby Union - all past players and supporters welcome. Games to be played all day and Anniversary Dinner 7pm till late. • 19 and 20 July 2008 - The 5th Annual Kokoda Challenge is a cross-country bushwalking team event where teams of 4 people trek a 96km course through the Gold Coast Hinterland within a 39 hour time limit. Funds raised from this event finance the cost of the Kokoda Challenge Youth Program.

• 25 July (Friday) 2008 - Schools Tree Day  Planet Arks Schools Tree Day has an increasing number of schools becoming involved each year. Visit Planet Ark for more information.
   
• 25 to 27 July 2008 - Mid Year Rotary Antiques Fair -  10am - 6pm, Friday 25th. 10am - 5pm, Saturday 26th. 10am - 4pm, Sunday 27th. Waterways Centre, Sunshine Bvd, Broadbeach (next to Pacific Fair).

• 27 July (Sunday) 2008 - National Tree Day - Planet Ark's National Tree Day is Australia's biggest community tree planting event. It is organised by Planet Ark. To get involved go to the Planet Ark
   
• 27 July (Sunday) 2008 - Gold Coast Greek Festival - Greek food, coffee shop, tavern, culture displays, live entertainment, rides and visit the Greek church. 31a Crombie Ave, Bundall.
   
• 27 & 28 July 2008 - The Gold Coast Careers Expo - comprehensive careers event for those reviewing their career pathway, school leavers and their parents and mature age students. Australian universities, local & national employers, private education providers, TAFE, Defence Forces, Government Agencies, student services and industry will all be represented.
