  • 1 September to 16 October 2008 - Tiwest Night Stalk - a national citizen-based spotlight survey to determine numbers and distribution of Australian native species and feral pests. Anyone can do it, all you need is a torch and a sense of adventure. See the website for instructions and a spotter's log.
     
  • 3 September (Wednesday) 2008 - Indigenous Literacy Day - Help raise urgently needed funds to address the literacy crisis in remote Indigenous communities. There will be events around the country - see the Australian Society of Authors for details. 
     
  • 5 September (Friday) 2008 - Footy Colours Day - Wear your team's colours to work or school to raise money for the Back on Track program, which offers tailored tutoring for children living with cancer. Register your school or workplace on the website
     
  • 5 & 6 September 2008 - Be Constructive Careers Expo - Hands on construction displays and information booths providing information to career seekers on how they can progress in trades, diplomas and master level qualifications plus associated employment opportunities.
