Stanley
Stanley is a village located under the 152 metre high outcrop
of The Nut (a plug of an extinct volcano) on a peninsula that just into
Bass Strait in the far north-west of Tasmania. It was set up as the original site of the merino wool
industry of the Van Diemen's Land Company in 1825.
