Cancer Council Call to Arms
- An annual, national event to raise funds and awareness of cancer,
a disease that effects 1 in 2 men by age 85. Host a Call to Arms match
where the players in your sporting club wear a yellow armband in a show
of support to men who have survived cancer, those currently facing the
cancer fight and to remember mates who have lost their lives to cancer.
All funds raised go to the Cancer Council.
NAIDOC Week -
National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee hosts NAIDOC week each
year in July. Various activities will take place across Australia.
Festival
of Voices- Aims to link teachers, choirs, singing groups and
individuals in a non-competitive environment. Various venues in
Hobart.
Devonport
Jazz - An annual music festival in the city of Devonport on
Tasmania's northwest coast. The festival features local and interstate jazz
musicians performing in many jazz genres and at a variety of venues.
