History: BCL.com.au began as Brisbane City Life in May 1995 at
www.maxlink.com.au/bcl
later moving to
www.brisbanecitylife.com.au. In January 2003, when the site went nation-wide
with a site for each Australian state at
www.BCL.com.au, Brisbane City Life remained on the original domain.
What is it? BCL.com.au is a regional community guide providing an easy
way for readers to find information, events and services around Australia with
links to many non-profit groups, government sites and commercial sites. It is an
online only publication, there is no related print version. The site
serves over 1 million page views per month.
To complement the website, we send out a monthly email newsletter to
subscribers. We have recently relaunched a new weekly shopping newsletter.

How is it funded? BCL.com.au is funded by selective commercial
advertising. All advertising is done using a performance model eg % of sale, pay
per click, per visitor or per lead using affiliate marketing software. We do not
accept advertising from gambling sites. You can

Who runs BCL.com.au? The domain names BCL.com.au and
brisbanecitylife.com.au and related websites are owned by its creators, Maxlink
Media Services. Since July 2005, BCL has been managed by Online Encounters Pty
Ltd. Online Encounters is a privately owned company based on the northside of
Brisbane with a staff of 4.
Note: We suggest that you print BCL.com.au in upper case for clarity. Both
cases work but bcl.com.au can be mistaken for bd.com.au in some fonts.
