  • 1 to 7 December 2008 - Melbourne Homeless World Cup 2008 - International football tournament changing lives. 56 nations and 500 players will unite with one goal - to end homelessness. Street soccer matches will run each day and there will also be a cultural program. Free entry. Federation Square and Birrarung Marr.
     
  • 6 December (Saturday) 2008 - Carols at the Convent - Australian Idol winner Kate DeAraugo along with Roy Best, John Lidgerwood, Alexandra Lidgerwood, Radio Rhythm and Orchestra Combined Choir will all perform at this annual event. 6.00pm at The Abbotsford Convent, 1 Heliers St, Abbotsford.   • 29 November to 7 December 2008 - The Great Victoria Bike Ride - Organised by Bicycle Australia. Cycling holiday starting and ending in Ballarat. It will also feature the countryside in and around the Grampians. Charity partner is Diabetes Australia (Victoria).
     
  • 7 December (Sunday) 2008 - Eureka Festival - A free event featuring world music, belly dancing, indigenous story telling and old-fashioned games.   • 13 December (Saturday) 2008 - Inaugural Concert for the Shakuhachi Chamber Music Composition Competition - Featuring winning compositions from the USA, Australia, and Japan performed by Australian shakuhachi performers. 3:30pm at Melba Hall, University of Melbourne.   • 27 November to 13 December 2008 - Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead - Two men on a roadside are invited to take part in an impromptu performance by a band of traveling players.
