  • 10 & 11 January 2009 - Peninsula AquaFest - Gathering of marine-based organisations, activities, and community groups. Free entry. Martha Cove at Safety Beach, Mornington Peninsula.
     
  • 11 January (Sunday)  2009 - The Red Hill Country Music Festival is held at the Red Hill Showgrounds on the Mornington Peninsula. The festival has live bands, line dancing, a Peninsula Youth Talent Quest plus lots of other activities for the country music fans. (Mornington Peninsula accommodation here).
     
  • 18 January to 8 February 2009 - 21st Midsumma Festival - Melbourne’s premier gay and lesbian arts and cultural festival. This annual festival celebrates the pride and diversity of Victoria's lesbian, gay and allied communities.
     
  • 19 January to 1 February 2009 - Australia Open Tennis at Melbourne Park.

  • To be Confirmed  2009 - The Smart Cup Australian Invitational A world-first event combining a PGA endorsed professional golf tournament and a professional skateboarding expression session on the biggest skating half-pipe in the southern hemisphere. The event will also feature a boat show and a hot rod and custom car exhibition.
