8 & 9 May 2010 - Ballarat Heritage Weekend - Celebrating the 1850s' architecture, heritage-listed homes and gardens, culture and history (see Ballarat).

9 May (Sunday) 2010 - Trees for Mum will be held for the seventh consecutive year this Mother’s Day. The free national event offers motherless children a way to remember their mum, and celebrate the beauty of life, by planting a tree in her honour. Go to the website for more information.
9 May (Sunday) 2010 - Mothers Day Classic - An annual fun run which aims to raise money for breast cancer research. Proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Victorian races will be held in Melbourne and Geelong.
10 to 16 May 2010 - National Volunteer Week - An opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our communities and to say thank you to the more than 5 million Australians who volunteer (see volunteer groups in Victoria).
14 May (Friday) 2010 - Loud Shirt Day - Wear a loud shirt and raise funds for deaf children around Australia.
17 May (Monday) 2010 - RSPCA Million Paws Walk - Register online to take part in the walk in order to raise funds for the RSPCA (see also No School Today: Fundraising Activities).
17 to 23 May 2010 - Law Week 2010 coordinated by the Victoria Law Foundation – aims to promote access to and understanding of the law and justice system. Law Week involves over 150 organisations, who work with the Foundation to present seminars, exhibitions, lectures, Q&A sessions, court and parliament tours, and many other public events and displays designed to provide legal information at little or no cost.
*21 & 22 May 2010 - The National Careers & Employment Expo - Free entry.
