families with Bridging Visas living in Community Detention, as well as
adults and children living inside Immigration Detention Centres. ALIV is
seeking volunteers to actively work with children and families as well
as in recruitment, administration, fundraising, volunteer management and

The Light of Lanka Foundation
- Was established in January 2005 as a result of mother of three, Needra Doyles
inspiring trip to Sri Lanka just three days after the tsunami to work as
a volunteer. After sharing her experiences via emails to friends at
home, a group were motivated to form a committee to assist some of the
hundreds of orphaned children.
Men's Link - A non-profit
organisation which aims to promote the value, well-being and social
participation of young men by providing appropriate and professional
services with outreach activities. They require
mentors for
group activities and one-to-one mentoring.
Radio Lollipop - An international organisation
founded over 25 years ago to provide care, comfort, play and
entertainment for children and young people, primarily in hospitals. The service to children and young people is provided entirely by volunteers
who have been especially selected and trained to make a child's stay in
hospital more fun and less frightening.
Romero Centre - A place of
support for former detainees and Temporary Protection Visa holders. Some
examples of volunteer roles include casework support, accommodation support,
project work, newsletter production, childminding, administration, and
tutoring.
