Fiordland
Fiordland's West Coast is indented by 14 fiords along its 215 km of
coastline. Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound are the most visited - and they
are really fiords, not sounds.
October to April are the peak periods for tourism and it is very
important to book your accommodation and activities in advance. Te Anau is
often busy in February. There are times over the summer months when
accommodation is completely booked out.
- Milford Track Guided Day Walk from Te Anau (
