• Pack a picnic bag and buy a bus pass for a different way to see Cairns.  Sunbus runs bus routes from Cairns city to the northern beaches - Machans Beach, Holloways Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Trinity Beach, Kewarra Beach, Clifton Beach, and Palm Cove. 
• Sunbus can also take you to the Flecker Botanic Gardens - admission is free and a guided tour can be booked for a small fee.
• The BCC Central Cairns cinema at Cairns Central Shopping Centre, Spence St (cnr Mcleod St) shows all the latest movies.  A great way to get out of the heat and rest your feet for a few hours.
