Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

Passengers on the Kuranda Skyrail ride in a gondola along 7.5km of cableway from Cairns to Kuranda above the Barron Gorge National Park, up to 40.5m above the ground and 545m above sea level. During construction, great care was taken to preserve the rainforest environment. No roads were built -- workers travelled on foot to their work site carrying all their equipment and the towers supporting the cable were sent in via helicopter.
