Whitsunday Islands - Queensland Barrier Reef

The Whitsunday Islands, off Queensland's east coast near Proserpine, Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour, are approx 200 km south of Townsville. Winter (June, July, August) is a very popular time for tourism in the Whitsundays with visitors from the south enjoying the winter sunshine, although most activities operate all year round.
