• 2 August (Saturday) 2008 - Energy [R]evolution Tour Townsville - Get on board Greenpeace ship Esperanza and meet the crew. • 2 to 17 August 2008 - Hervey Bay Whale Festival A festival to celebrate the return of the annual migration and extended stay of the humpback whale to the calm waters of Hervey Bay. See Hervey Bay accommodation.

• 18 August (Monday) 2008 - Cupcake Day for the RSPCA - Grab your cupcake ingredients, dust off your chef's hat and get your mixer ready.
