children a way to remember their mum, and celebrate the beauty of life,

Wear a loud shirt and raise funds for deaf children around Australia.
Australian-Italian Festival
an extravaganza of mouth watering Italian food, first class
entertainment, insights to Italian heritage, and non-stop activities in
a specially-created Italian Piazza setting with cultural displays and
authentic aromas at the Ingham Showgrounds (see Ingham).
Captain Cook 1770 Festival -
Commemorating the visit of the Bark Endeavour and the landing of Lt. James
Cook's crew in May 1770. A free event with many activities including a
parade, re-enactment, fireworks, art workshop, short film festival, comedy
night, and family day. Various locations in
Agnes Water and the Town of 1770.
Dent to Dunk Centenary Race & Rally - Hosted by
Abel Point Yacht
Club. The rally starts in Airlie Beach
and continues up to Dunk Island. It
includes activities such as barbecues on nearby beaches.
The Rally will start on Saturday 22nd May 2010.
The Race will start on Saturday 29th May 2010.
World Turtle Day - Build a Flatback turtle out of
sand to tell Prime Minister Rudd to "Save Our Flatbacks" this World
Turtle Day. Join us at 10am in one of the following locations: Perth -
South Cottesloe dog beach, Broome - Cable beach, Darwin - Mindil beach,
& Cairns TBA. If you are elsewhere but want to help out, please make
your own sand turtle and email a photo to Jenita on jenita.enevoldsen[at]wilderness.org.au
National
Simultaneous Storytime - An annual campaign organised by
the Australian Library and Information Association, in which a picture book,
written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read
simultaneously to children in a variety of venues around Australia. The book
for 2010 is Little White Dogs Can't Jump.
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea - Anyone can host a morning tea during the months of May or
June. All funds raised help
The
Cancer Council fund research, prevention and support services for
patients and families.
65 Roses Day -
The annual national awareness day for Cystic Fibrosis. Funds raised will go
towards research projects and support services for children and young adults
living with CF.
