• 3 December (Wednesday) 2008 - Bertrand Tavernier Conference & Film - Hear French film director, Bertrand Tavernier, speak about his work in the context of French filmmaking. Free event. 4:30pm to 5:30pm at the Social Science Lecture Theatre, The University of Western Australia, Nedlands. After the conference there will be a screening of Tavernier's film, Laissez passer, with an opportunity for questions after the screening. Normal movie ticket price. 6:45pm at Cinema Paradiso, Northbridge. 
   
• 4 December (Thursday) 2008 - Subiaco Street Festival - The festival will include fashion markets, street performers, dance schools, a petting zoo, climbing wall, food stalls and various live street acts.  6.00pm to 9.00pm on Rokeby Road from Roberts Road to Bagot Road.
   
• 5 December (Friday) 2008 - City Blues Jam - This free concert presented by the The City of Joondalup will take place alongside the weekly City of Joondalup Sunset Markets, so there'll be food and other items for sale plus free children’s rides and activities. 7:00pm to 10:00pm at the Joondalup CBD - head for Reid Promenade, near the corner of Central Walk. • 5 December (Friday) 2008 - Jean-Felix Lalanne Guitar Recital - Presented by The Alliance Française de Perth and the French Embassy in Australia. Instrumentalist, composer, conductor, arranger and producer, Jean-Félix Lalanne, will perform. $20 members, $25 non-members. 7:00pm at the Alliance, 75 Broadway, Nedlands. • 6 December (Saturday) 2008 - A Christmas Carol - Theatre under the stars with "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. A free event. 6.00pm at Amery Park, Amery Road, Hocking.
   
• 6 & 7 December 2008 - Planet Earth Festival - There will be a street parade on Sunday involving local school children, plus street performers, buskers, food, rides, live bands, balloon artists, a farm, and a Freestyle BMX competition. • 7 December (Sunday) 2008 - Christmas Pageant - The pageant will start at 9.30am at Langley Park and finishes at Langley Park West.

• 14 December (Sunday) 2008 - Perth Foreshore Market at the Bell Tower - Hand crafted market featuring 90 stalls of hand made products made in WA. Santa will also be there. Gold coin donation entry. 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Bell Tower, Perth Foreshore.
   
• 14 December (Sunday) 2008 - Mayor's BBQ - The free festivities include live music, Santa Claus, kids entertainment and a sausage sizzle. Bring a chair or a blanket. 4.30pm to 7.30pm at Hyde Park (near the stage). 
   
• 18 December (Thursday) 2008 - School Term 4 and School Year ends (Australian school holiday dates)
   
• 21 November to 19 December 2008 - Sunset Markets - Presented by the City of Joondalup. Goodies for sale, free entertainment such as bands, buskers and street performers, plus free rides and activities. Santa will make an appearance on the 19 December. 7.00pm to 10.00pm, every Friday evening, on Central Walk and Reid Promenade, Joondalup.
     
• 20 December (Saturday) 2008 - Home for Christmas - Performed by the musical comedy duo Luke & Wyatt. 7.00pm at The Hydey, cnr Fitzgerald & Bulwer St, North Perth. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for concession. For bookings phone 0405 201 435.
