  • 1 to 30 September 2009 - Oxfam's Exchange for Change - Australian women are invited to host a clothes exchange at any time in September to raise funds for Oxfam Australia. Swap clothes that you no longer wear, love or need to raise funds to help fight global poverty.
     
  • 1 to 8 September 2009 - Adult Learners' Week - Aims to celebrate and promote all forms of adult and lifelong learning with a strong focus on literacy.
     
  • 3 September (Thursday) 2009 - Australian National Flag Day - The 108th birthday of the Australian Flag. It was first raised on this day in 1901.
     
  • 3 to 6 September 2009 - Noosa Jazz Festival - Artists include Jackson Jackson, The Bamboos, Watussi and more. Held in various venues around Noosa including restaurants, the Noosa Heads Lions Club and The Woods, Claude Batten Dr, Noosa Heads.
     
  • 4 September (Friday) 2009 - Footy Colours Day - Wear your team's colours - AFL, NRL, rugby union or soccer and help raise funds for the Fight Cancer Foundation. To organise a Footy Colours Day event register online.
     
  • 30 August to 5 September 2009 - Legacy Week - The funds raised from this year’s Badge Appeal will help Legacy continue to assist 120,000 widows and 1,900 children and people with disabilities Australia-wide.

  • 5 September (Saturday) 2009 - Row for Cancer 2009 - Hosted by the Health Foundation to raise funds for cancer patients on the Sunshine Coast. The event is open to almost all ages and skill levels. Cotton Tree Park, Maroochy River

  • 6 to 13 September 2009 - Homeless World Cup 2009 - An annual international football tournament. Teams are made up of homeless people who are invited to play for their country.
     
  • 7 to 13 September 2009 - National Blood Donor Week
     
  • 7 to 13 September 2009 - Weedbusters Week - A national campaign to raise awareness about sustainable land and water management.
     
  • 11 September (Friday) 2009 - Noosa Country Show Holiday
     
  • 11 to 12 September 2009 - Noosa Country Show - Celebrating 100 years with live music, dancing, dog showing, cattle judging, arts and crafts, a wood chop and more. Held at the Pomona Showgrounds.
     
  • 11 to 13 September 2009 - Sunshine Coast Blues Festival 
     
  • 29 August to 13 September 2009 - Festival of the Walks - Organised tours will be available for rainforest and mountain walks in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. There will also be food and entertainment in the town centres of Maleny and Montville.
     
  • 18 September (Friday) 2009 - Last day of School Term 3 - (See AU school holidays.)  
  • 19 September to 4 October 2009 - Oktoberfest - see Themes4Parties for costumes and party products.
     
  • 19 September (Saturday) 2009 - Talk Like a Pirate Day Queensland - Australians are invite to join people around the world to Talk Like A Pirate for a day and raise funds for Childhood Cancer Support who provide accommodation, emotional and financial support at no cost to families of children with cancer.   • 20 September (Sunday) 2009 - Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink - A women's only triathlon, raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
     
  • 26 September (Saturday) 2009 - Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival - With live music, children's activities, camel rides, rock climbing, cooking demonstrations, wine tasting, a beer tent and more. 9.00am to 4.00pm on the Tin Can Bay Foreshore.
     
  • 26 September to 4 October 2009 - Kenilworth Celebrates! - A festival of visual and performing arts presented by the Kenilworth Arts Council Inc. The program includes workshops, a poets' breakfast, art exhibitions, street entertainment and live performance. See the festival program.
     
  • 27 September (Sunday) 2009 - Noosa Beach Classic Car Show - Noosa Heads Lions Park. Proceeds go to local charities and student driver training programs.
