Clovelly is a relaxed beachside suburb 8km east of Sydney, known
affectionately to locals as "Cloey", between Bondi
(north) and Coogee (south). Shops and cafes are spread along almost the
entire length of Clovelly Road.
There are many houses, and near the shoreline are apartment blocks built from
the 1950s onwards that take advantage of the ocean views. Regular bus services
go to the city.
Clovelly Bay is popular for bathing and snorkelling. The Clovelly Baths include
a 25m concrete pool with marked swimming lanes. The Baths are part of the
promenade and are heritage listed. The beach is patrolled by volunteer surf life
savers during some parts of the year.
