- Throughout July 2009 -
Cancer Council Call to Arms
- An annual, national event to raise funds and awareness of cancer,
a disease that effects 1 in 2 men by age 85. To participate,
nominate any day in July to host a Call to Arms match where the
players in your sporting club wear a yellow armband in a show of
support to men who have survived cancer, those currently facing the
cancer fight and to remember mates who have lost their lives to
cancer. All funds raised go to the Cancer Council. Any sporting club
can join, so register by 26 June, contact 1300 65 65 85.

Redkite - An annual colour themed ball to raise money for
Redkite (formerly The
Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children in Australia), which supports children with cancer. In 2009 the theme is Ultra Violet. Tickets are

Weather Makers, and Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Chair of the UN
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. University of Western Sydney,
