Gold Coast to Cairns

You can travel to Brisbane and then catch the Queensland Rail's Sunlander or long distance Tilt Train which run regularly from Brisbane to Cairns, or fly from Gold Coast or Brisbane Airports to Cairns International Airport.

You can also drive more than 1700km from the Gold Coast to Cairns which takes approximately 25 hours - with no stopovers and several changes of driver. A more leisurely drive over three or more days is recommended. Rockhampton is a popular stopover for a 3 day trip, before embarking on the long stretch from Rockhampton to Mackay on the second day.
