- Phoenix Brewery, 10 Camp Street Ballarat, VIC Australia, 3350
CUISINE: Modern Australian,
AMBIENCE: Formal
This restaurant truly has a history of its own. Rising from the ashes the Phoenix Brewery emerges generations after its establishment in 1854 by Simon's great great grandfather. With 150 years of local brewing tradition in the family, don't be suprised if Ballarat soon has a beer it can once again call its own.
Located in the historic Camp Street arts precinct in Central Ballarat opposite the University of Ballarat city campus, the Phoenix Brewery offers a dining experience unique to the city of Ballarat. Owner/Operator Simon Coghlan has created a versatile space which incorporates formal dining, private functions and a fresh metro bar style.
An extensive wine list by both bottle and glass accompanies the menu of modern Australian cuisine. With a pronounced European influence, the Phoenix Brewery also offers Ballarat an introduction to the Spanish concept of tapas, perfect for any time of day.

The cuisine is Australian/ Mediterranean, loosely interpreted as cosmopolitan dishes. Most of the ingredients used are grown locally and have been carefully teamed with our wine list.
From risotto made the traditional way, with only two ingredients, to pasta topped with grano padano imported from Italy, the dishes are simple, yet sumptuous. Cooking techniques are innovative but traditional and are treated differently from anywhere else in Ballarat.
The desserts, which are made daily, are just as indulgent as the decor and main meals.
Even the coffee is made with the finest ingredients - only Del Zotti coffee is used in the Italian tradition.
