Bright is a small town in Victoria's High
Country, within Ovens
Valley and at the foothills of the Victorian Alps. The town is a major
tourist centre because of its proximity to the ski resorts of Mt Hotham and Mt Buffalo, as well as
because of the still-visible remains of alluvial goldfields.
Bright is 3 to 4 hours drive north from
Melbourne, 3 to 4 hours drive
south from Wagga Wagga and 5 1/2
hours from Canberra. The closest
Airport is Albury, a scenic 90 minute
hour drive away.
