The Italian family restaurant Simone’s, is located in the North-East Victorian Alpine township of Bright. Simone’s had been run by George and Patrizia Simone for the past 20 years, in which time it has moved from its first location at Oven Valley Motor Inn, on the outskirts of Bright, to a beautiful Victorian cottage in the heart of the township.
Patrizia is an Italian-born chef who trained with her mother - a chef - in Perugia. After finishing school she went to England, then to Australia where she meet her Italian born husband George Simone. After giving birth to son Anthony, they moved from Melbourne to Bright to start Simone’s restaurant. Twenty years later she is an icon of the area, combining here Italian food heritage with the bounty of fresh local produce available in the north-east.
