BCL.com.au started as Brisbane City Life in 1995. It grew to have sites for all Australia capital cities as well as the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Tropical North Queensland. BCL is an online publication only. There is no print version.
The rise of social media and data-driven online advertising changed the way people and businesses used the internet.
Now another change is happening with AI producing masses of unreliable and unverified content. The time has come again for website created and managed by real people.
BCL is funded by advertising and has never sought nor received any government funding. We provide community links and events listings free.
BCL is not aligned to any political party or religious viewpoint. Throughout the site, we attempt to give a balanced view with links to a range of sites. If anything, we tend to provide an outlet for small groups and people who are often not represented in the mainstream media.
