Visit the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets on Thursdays 5-10pm and Sundays 4-9 pm. The Mindil Beach Sunset Market run from the last Thursday in April until the last Thursday in October.

August 2018 Events in Darwin & The Northern Territory

  • 6 August (Monday) 2018 – Picnic Day Public Holiday (see AU school and public holiday dates).
  • 10 to 12 August 2018 – The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair showcases the contemporary fine art of over sixty Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres at its annual event. The fair is held in Darwin, on Larrakia Lands, at the Darwin Convention Centre.
  • 18 to 24 August 2018 – CBCA Children’s Book Week – Celebrating Australian books, authors and illustrators. The 2018 Book Week theme is Find Your Treasure (see our BCL page on Book Week).
  • 31 August to 2 September 2018 – Red CentreNATS at  Alice Springs is Australia’s newest automotive lifestyle festival celebrating all things wheels.
