Deloraine is an historic town, on the Meander River, in the foothills of the Great Western Tiers mountain range. Deloraine is on the Bass Highway, 50 km west of Launceston and 52 km south of Devonport. Meander Valley Council is the local government area.
Deloraine hosts the Tasmanian Craft Fair, claimed to be Australia’s largest working Craft Fair. The town has been classified by the National Trust as a town of historical significance.
Trowunna Wildlife Park is a privately owned wildlife park for native Tasmanian wildlife at Mole Creek, near Deloraine. Trowunna has a great range of marsupials, birds and reptiles on site.
