New Norfolk, 7140, Tasmania, Australia

The town of New Norfolk is approximately 35 kilometres north west of Hobart, along the River Derwent and the Lyell Highway. The town gets its name from the pioneers who were resettled here from Norfolk Island in 1807/1808. The chief industries of the area are paper manufacturing and the production of hops.

The Derwent Valley Railway is based at New Norfolk, and although currently not operational, is working towards returning tourist rail excursions to the Tasmanian rail system.

From New Norfolk, the Lyell Highway heads west to Queenstown and Strahan on the west coast.
