Darlinghurst Sydney NSW 2010

Darlinghurst is a suburb on the fringe of the Sydney CBD, east of Hyde Park. Oxford Street, which marks the border between Darlinghurst (north) and Surry Hills (south), is lined with fashion and book shops, night clubs, bars, cinemas, galleries, and cafes. Oxford Street continues east through Paddington, Woollahra, and Bondi Junction. Other major roads include Darlinghurst Road and Victoria Street, which run north to Kings Cross.

Oxford Street is currently the home of the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade, and the area has an important place in the history of Sydney’s LGBT population. Oxford Street still has many gay bars and clubs, and has become popular as a general nightclubbing precinct.

Darlinghurst Hotels

Darlinghurst and Surry Hills offer a pleasant alternative to CBD hotels. It is quieter with a pleasant walk through Hyde Park to city attractions or appointments, and there are plenty of places to eat at night.
