Sydney: Pyrmont, 2009, NSW, Australia

Pyrmont is on a peninsula bound by Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour, Johnstons Bay and Blackwattle Bay. On the land side is Ultimo, Wentworth Park to Glebe and Tumbalong Park to the CBD.

The tree-lined Harris Street runs the length of Pyrmont and down into Ultimo. The old Pyrmont Bridge across to the CBD is now pedestrian only. The Western Distributor Freeway links Pyrmont to Victoria Road in Rozelle leading west, and the CBD in the east.

Evidence of its industrial waterfront history can be seen in the wharves and woolstores, many of which have been redeveloped into hotels, offices and apartments.

Pyrmont is served well with public transport with buses, ferries and light rail. There are four light rail stations… at Pyrmont Bay, Star City, John Street Square and the Sydney Fish Market.
